In addition to our weekly meetings noon at the Vista Entertainment Center, the Rotary Club of Vista has extra events throughout the year. Some are with other Rotary Clubs, some are with the community. The objectives can be service projects, projects to raise money, and sometimes just to get together.

Promoting Literacy in Vista
The Rotary Club of Vista read and presented brand new books to the entire first grade at Maryland Elementary in Vista Thursday October 27, 2011. The Rotary Club of Vista was awarded a literacy grant through Rotary District 5340 to assist a county-wide focus on literacy. Rotarians from Vista presented the Mo Willems book “Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed” to the first-graders along with the Rotary 4-Way Test.
Participating in the project was Club President Matt Koumaras, President Elect Paula White and Club Secretary Richard Sharp.
Club President Matt Koumaras stated that “Literacy helps people in society and is very closely tied to the chances of having a good job and providing more opportunities.”
